Homebrew Thorn Golem Species Details
After a war between celestials ravaged the middle planes, the gods created super soldiers by enchanting their nymph and satyr soldiers and making them even more powerful. After the war, the remaining thorn golems were abandoned and had no purpose left. Now they wander the Earth looking for jobs, typically attracted to mercenary jobs to recreate their original purpose in life.
Shards
At first glance, a thorn golem might look like a regular humanoid, depending on what they might have looked like before their transformation, but when you start looking closely you realize that something is off. It could be the greenish tinge of their eyes, or the fact that when they walk they seem to have a certain springiness, or maybe that if they make sudden movements you can see a bit of a separation and empty space for a second. Thorn golems tend to wear concealing clothing, trying to prevent anyone from seeing that inhuman trait that they've had for millennia. In fact, these separations are really there and are an essential part of them. The reason why they're called thorn golems is that they are made of a clump of thorns bunched into a humanoid shape. They can't grow their hair out because of this, but they can't always control it either.
Unopinionated yet involved
Thorn Golems tend to avoid getting involved in politics and society, fearing that they would be outcasts and exiled from society. They tend to be unsympathetic to the happenings of everyday society around them and are used to the violent nature of every day life. They tend to use outdated language from when they were part of society and before they became imbued with celestial powers. However, if a war breaks out you can count on these creatures to join in, on either side, fighting to get recognition and a semblance of their former selves despite the risks it might pose.
Naming
Thorn Golems don't often introduce themselves with their actual names, typically choosing to go by nicknames that they've established for themselves over their long and arduous lives. Their actual names tend to be related to nature or celestial. Their nicknames are often descriptions of their personalities, such as representations of what they've done or strive to be.
