Homebrew Arboreus Species Details

The Arboreus live in vast uncharted forests and only go to the outside world if there is a great need. They were the ones who taught the first elven Druids how to listen to plantlife, and how to help them grow. They are known as shepherds of trees.

Age

The oldest of the Arboreus have seen forests grow from a single seed to a vast expanse of land. An Arboreus comes into sentience after a century spent asleep, and can live up to 3000 years old. Currently the oldest Arboreus on record is 5000 years old.

Size

Speed

Bark Skin

An Arboreus' skin is made of tough bark, giving them a natural armor of 16 and resistance to bludgeoning and piercing damage. However that same bark skin makes an Arboreus vulnerable to sustained fire damage (such as being set on fire).

One with the Forest

Arboreus are creatures of the forest. The power imbued upon them by ancient druidic traditions during their century-old slumber grants them the ability to communicate with all naturally grown plants. You have advantage on all Charisma checks you make to influence them. At 1st level, the ancient druidic powers within you sprout, and the Arboreus knows the druidcraft. At 3rd level, the ancient druidic powers within you grow, allowing you to better fulfill your role as a shepherd of nature. You can cast plant growth once per long rest as a ritual. At 12th level, the ancient power takes root, connecting you with trees once visited on this plane of existence. You can cast transport via plants once per long rest as a ritual.

Powerful Build

You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.
