Homebrew Chameleobold Species Details

(Class created in collaboration with Cait May.)

Built for Adventure

Most species of Kobold hide away in caves, fearing the sunlight, and exclusively socialize with their Kobold brethren. None of this is the case for Chameleobolds.

Chameleobolds do not fear the sun, and have been known to bask in its heat. Many Chameleobolds have wanderlust, and will travel hundreds of miles for no other reason than the journey. Their small frames and prehensile tails make them excellent climbers, and they typically build houses in trees.

Chameleobolds are a joyful race. They are filled with wonder at the world, which is often so much bigger than they are, and they have explosive personalities for their comparatively small size.

A Visual Language

Though all Chameleobolds can tell each other apart, they understand that the taller world is not so perceptive, and often groups them into "small loud lizards who all look the same." As such, they developed a highly pigmented and quick-drying lacquer that they paint on their scales in various patterns and colors to help other races identify them. This is similar to nail polish and can last for several weeks before reapplication is needed. Many Chameleobolds travel with pouches full of various colors and enjoy decorating themselves and their party members.
