Homebrew Alphaforged Species Details
“Zeta, what are you doing,” Hampshire asked.
“Recording our stories and paths,” Zeta replied.
“Why?" Hampshire continued, "you've always been aloof why do something so precise?"
"We must find the Alpha."
The alphaforged were born from the combination of warforged and a divine guide known as Alpha in a strange experiment. The creators of the alphaforged broke Alpha's mind and separated it into different segments of emotion. Each alphaforged has the body of the warforged but is prone to emotional bursts based on the emotional aspect of Alpha they are. Rumors claim Alpha still exists in the world so broken and twisted it has lost all memory of it's past, unknowing if it's good or evil. The alphaforged have grown to become some of the most intelligent creatures and also some of the most evil minds.
Born from Pain and on a Search for Origins
Alphaforged were born from the discarded bodies of the warforged. Thus, they are also made of alchemical plants and metal plates. However, fragments of Alpha's mind have been forced into these bodies. These alter the warforged bodies to match their personalities more. These changes are typically shown via unique colors in their metallic skin, or simple changes such as a perpetual scowl. They also all have a dim glow of the color respective of their metallic skin. These personalities are born from initial pain and torment, but it is typically forgotten or remembered only in flashes almost like being born again. This initial trauma doesn't necessarily warp the personality, but it does mean each alphaforged feels incomplete. They seek their origins and the legendary Alpha to become whole. Some go down a path of darkness while others go down a path of light, and some try to ignore this desire filling the void with other things.
Although they were manufactured, alphaforged are living humanoids. Resting, healing magic, and the Medicine skill all provide the same benefits to alphaforged that they do to other humanoids.
Alphaforged Personality
The alphaforged were designed to help improve tactical decisions as well as support for armies. This is at least what many believe, some think it may have been a dark experiment on what happens when you split a divine beings mind into pieces. Many also find this strange as their unique personalities can make them difficult to work with, but most of them have quick minds and a keen eye for battles.
The typical alphaforged is very active in their personality. They are designed for war but will always serve their emotional spectrum. Dependent on their emotional skew that will determine what they do now with their time as they don't serve in any key wars. Some that are of a cunning skew may explore magic and history, while those of a sad skew may become recluses or tinkerers.
The typical alphaforged has a sexless body shape. Some alphaforged ignore the concept of gender entirely, while others adopt a gender identity.
The more a alphaforged develops its individuality, the more likely it is to modify its body, seeking out an artificer to customize the look of its face, limbs, and plating. There are also some that will try to look closer to their idea of the Alpha.
Emotional Skew
Alphaforged are all linked to some emotional aspect of the original Alpha. The table below contains possible emotions to be prevalent in the Alphaforged, the more emotions present cause the Alphaforged to have mental difficulties and possibly insanity.

Alphaforged Names
Most Alphaforged were assigned names based off ancient alphabets, except for Alpha, and ancient words. Many of them may change their names though to diversify themselves more, or by friends to simplify their names. A few take on human names, often the name of a fallen friend or mentor. Some may also take things seen in nature or civilization as names.

Alphaforged Traits
Your Alphaforged character has the following traits. A few of the traits give you a choice; consider how your choice reflects the purpose for which your character was built.Ability Score Increase
Your Constitution score increases by 2, and one other ability score of your choice increases by 1.
Age
A typical alphaforged has been active for two to seven years, but all of them are ancient only recently being reactivated for some unknown purpose. The maximum alphaforged lifespan remains a mystery; so far, alphaforged have shown no signs of deterioration due to age. You are immune to magical aging effects.
Alignment
Most alphaforged are aligned based off their personality skew. Most tend towards a lawful alignment due to their desire to find the Alpha while also designed to assist in war. But some will become chaotic and take the moral standards they deem necessary due to their personality skew.
Size
Your size is Medium. To set your height and weight randomly, start with rolling a size modifier:
Size modifier = 2d6
Height = 5 feet + 10 inches + your size modifier in inches
Weight in pounds = 270 + (4 × your size modifier)
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Constructed Resilience
You were created to have remarkable fortitude, represented by the following benefits:
- You have advantage on saving throws against being poisoned, and you have resistance to poison damage.
- You don’t need to eat, drink, or breathe.
- You are immune to disease.
- You don’t need to sleep, and magic can’t put you to sleep.
Sentry’s Rest
When you take a long rest, you must spend at least six hours in an inactive, motionless state, rather than sleeping. In this state, you appear inert, but it doesn’t render you unconscious, and you can see and hear as normal.
Advanced Armor
Your body has built-in defensive layers, which can be enhanced with armor:
- You gain a +1 bonus to Armor Class.
- You can don only armor with which you have proficiency. To don armor, you must incorporate it into your body over the course of 1 hour, during which you remain in contact with the armor. To doff armor, you must spend 1 hour removing it. You can rest while donning or doffing armor in this way.
- While you live, your armor can’t be removed from your body against your will.
Encrypted Mind
You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed and resistance to psychic damage.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.
