Homebrew Dracerin Species Details

Dracerin are small squirrel-like creatures that have small metal spikes on their backs. They live in huts in trees, usually camouflaged from below and almost impossible to detect through the heavy forest above. They have great climbing abilities and have extendable ribs that allow them to form large wings for them to glide on. Almost as primitive as lizardfolk, they are brutal surprise hunters and are rarely alone. Dracerin have eggs that they keep in small pouches on their belly. They are short and weak but very easily hidden. One could hide a Dracerin in a backpack or a chest. The Dracerin speak in a squeaky high pitched sound that is hard to understand unless they learn to speak in a lower frequency language. Dracernien is strange 3 line symbols that represent letters similar to common, except they lack unnecessary letters such as Q or K giving them a total of 25 letters. Dracerin eggs have a unique ability that allows them to be a certain color depending on what's near the egg as it develops allowing for parents to give their children a natural camouflage.
