Vampire Names

Vampires who willingly transcend death like to select new and fitting names, leaving their mortal lives behind and forging a new legacy as they come into their powers. Some Vampires are victims that make the best of their new existence, and they might keep their original names as a comfort or follow suit with other Vampires and select a new name. Vampire (Necromancer's Guild) Traits

Vampires share a number of traits with each other.

Undead Immunities

You are unaffected by diseases and poisons, resistant to Cold, Necrotic, and Poison damage, and do not need to breathe.

Weaknesses

Sunlight

You are deathly vulnerable to sunlight, taking 1d6 Radiant damage every minute while any part of you is exposed to it. You also suffer disadvantage on attack rolls, perception checks to see, and Dexterity saving throws. While wearing your Nightshade Amulet, you are immune to these effects. Never lose it!

Light Magic

You are vulnerable to Radiant damage. Clerics can utilize magics affecting the Undead upon you, such as Turn Undead.

Feeding

Should you suffer effects of Radiant damage, your regeneration will cease to function, as will your Nightshade Amulet's ability to allow you to consume normal food. The need to feed gnaws at you, causing disadvantage to Concentration checks as well as Investigation, Insight, and knowledge rolls. You will need to feed upon a humanoid's blood to regain these effects. Doing so will cause your target to take 1d6 points of Necrotic damage and suffer one level of Exhaustion until they are able to take a long rest. Fortunately, it is not likely to kill a healthy individual

Regeneration

You naturally heal over time, regaining 1 hit point every hour. This ability is halted after taking Radiant damage and can only be restored by feeding on blood. Severed limbs will regrow, returning to full functionality over the course of a month.

Feeding on blood will restore all hit points immediately, as well as removing Exhaustion and restoring a lost ability to regenerate naturally.

Ability Score Increase

Your Dexterity score increases by 2.

Age

Vampires do not age, their lives prolonged indefinitely by Dark Magic. Common knowledge notes that, like Dragons, Vampires grow more powerful as they gain more experience. Ancient elders are far more powerful than other Vampires, for example.

Alignment

Vampires tend to care primarily for their own existence as evidenced by their willing transformation into an Undead. As such, they tend to be of the Evil alignments. If they are members of the Necormancer's Guild, they will follow the rules and instructions the Guild sets forth, making them Lawful. Otherwise, a Shadowspire Vampire will be Neutral, functioning within the Undead society and not becoming a feral monster like those that haunt the outlands of the city.

Size

Elves range from under 5 to over 6 feet tall and have slender builds. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Darkvision

You have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 120 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Hunter's Senses

You have advantage in the Perception skill using scent.

Undead Ancestry

You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and Elvish.
