Homebrew Brigid Species Details
Sewn Machinations
Having been made to perform menial tasks for great wizards, the brigids are a race of living constructs which were once sewn together and then imbued with life.
Brigids in their tailored forms can resemble many things, from scarecrows, to cloth toys, and even porcelain dolls.
Brigid Traits
As a brigid, you have a number of traits due to your animated nature.Age
Brigids do not age, and their magical nature prevents them from rot.
Alignment
Brigids tend to neutral alignments, but some have followed the alignments of their original masters.
Size
Brigids typically stand between 5 and 7 feet tall and average about 80 pounds. Your size is Medium.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Cloth and Twine
Brigids are unaffected by healing effects. You can be healed 1d4 hit points with the mending cantrip.
You only regain hit points during rests with a weaver's kit or mending cantrip. Healing in this way restores all hit points, even if it was only a short rest.
Construct
Without a living body, brigids do not need sleep or food, boast a resistance to bludgeoning damage, and are immune to poison and disease.
Kindling
Your combustible body causes you to roll at disadvantage when rolling to avoid effects that catch you on fire.
Reanimate
Being made of sewn cloth and stuffing, you do not roll death saves when they fall unconscious, nor do you awake naturally. Attacks made against an unconscious brigids do not cause them to lose death saves, unless they are hit with fire damage.
While unconscious, you can be revived though the use of the mending cantrip. Casting spells which would revive a creature that does not directly heal hit points will also work on a brigid. Brigids can be brought back with 1 hit point using a weaver's kit over the course of a short rest, in which you can use hit-dice. Using a weaver's kit over the course of a long rest will revive you with all hit points.
