Homebrew Behemoth Species Details
Through the flames of a burning village, a large beast emerges. With humans in it's hands and bits of children in its teeth, it stomps houses and destroys everything within sight. These monstrosities are know as Behemoths. These huge beasts average to 12 feet tall and weigh 1 and a half tons, but the largest ever recorded was 16 feet tall and weighed 4 tons. Behemoths have greenish skin and large eyes. They are divided into two sub races- the Destroyer of Worlds and the Eater of Worlds. These beasts have the ability to speak but in short phrases, though they tend to speak with violence. The beasts have no need for armor because of of their sheer size and tend not to wield any "normal" weapons. The most common weapon for the beast is usually a pillar or a large tree. The beasts can live for around 450-500 years but they are usually hunted by the strongest and most powerful factions. Behemoths tend to also use their enormous teeth and jaws to rip apart their enemy. These beasts are almost always chaotic evil as they find pleasure in causing chaos and destruction but a few Behemoths were born with a sense of right and wrong and have even tried to help defend commoners of the evil that has plagued their world. Behemoths are almost always shunned where ever they are, no matter their alignment. Baby Behemoths grow up in a nursery in the top of the highest mountains where Behemoths are usually found. From birth they are always competing for glory with each other. Behemoths value two things more than anything else in the world- food and glory. Behemoths also are known for not being able to comprehend the concept of death. They will tend to "accidentally" kill someone or something and not feel any emotion whatsoever. Behemoths are notorious for their temper. Even the slightest thing can send them on a rampage. Behemoths will usually eat anything for food, even children. Behemoths constantly need to eat or they will go in to a rage killing everything in sight. Behemoths don't understand the meaning of wealth and money so to bribe a Behemoth, other creatures will use food as wealth. Behemoths have a soft spot for small creatures though. They love small people like Halflings and Gnomes. Small people also tend to be able to "domesticate" Behemoths and are usually able to calm them down when they get upset.
