Homebrew Beast Species Details

I-It was fast, faster than anything I had ever seen before.  It sundered armor and split shields, it's deafening roar sent us reeling in fear...  It looked like a monster b-but it wore armor and wielded a blade like a man.

Beast Traits

Your Hybrid Beast character has the following racial traits.

Imposing Presence

You gain proficiency in either Intimidation or Persuasion.

Keen Senses

Due to your bestial nature, you are naturally proficient in Perception.

Ability Score Increase

Your Strength or Dexterity score increases by 2, and your Charisma score increases by 1.

Age

Due to your mixed heritage, you can live anywhere from just older than most humans to well over 200 years old.

Alignment

Tabaxi tend toward chaotic alignments, as they let impulse and fancy guide their decisions. They are rarely evil, with most of them driven by curiosity rather than greed or other dark impulses.

Bellowing Roar

Your mighty roar affects every enemy within 30 feet of you that can hear your roar and has to make a Wisdom save (DC 10 + Proficiency bonus + Charisma bonus)  Failure means that opponent becomes Frightened of you for 1 minute. A frightened creature has disadvantage on ability checks and attack rolls while the source of its fear is within line of sight, and can't willingly move closer to you.

Once you use this feature, you can't do so again until you complete a short or long rest.

Size

Due to your mixed heritage, Tabaxi and Dragonborn, you can stand anywhere between just taller than most humans, to well over 6 feet tall.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Darkvision

You have a cat’s keen senses, especially in the dark. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Inhuman Agility

Your reflexes and agility allow you to move with a burst of speed. When you move on your turn in combat, you can double your speed until the end of the turn. Once you use this trait, you can’t use it again until you move 0 feet on one of your turns.

Clawed Hands

Because of your claws, you have a climbing speed of 20 feet. In addition, your claws are natural weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal slashing damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.
