Homebrew Accursed Fish Species Details
A young witch was curious as to whether she could magically turn undeveloped eggs into eggs of another animal. She must have been familiar with the phrase "go big or go home", because she first tried it out by attempting to make fish spawn produce human children. The results varied, but all of the fish eggs hatched into some combination of human and fish, whether it was a fish with human limbs, a human with gills, a human body with a whole fish as a head, and etc. Some of the Cursed Children are either fish-passing or human-passing, but most are shunned by society for their strange appearance, and end up despising their witch 'mother' for making them this way.

A Fish
Due to Accursed Fish having fish parts/being a part of fish culture, many can communicate with sea creatures. On the other hand, because of their fish traits, Accursed Fish will also be a target of piscivorous animals that would ordinarily leave other races alone.
Aquatic
Accursed Fish were originally meant to be pure fish, so it comes naturally to them to be in water. Due to this they are often graceful and speedy underwater where other land-dwellers may be clumsy and slow
Age
The Accursed Fish became fully mature in 11 human years, but it is unknown how old they generally grow to
Alignment
Accursed Fish tend not to be Lawful, due to their complex relationship with "normal" society
Size
The size of the Fish depends on how much of them is fishlike or humanlike. Some look just like a fish and are small, whereas others look almost completely human and are medium.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet. Due to Fish traits, swimming speed can be up to 50 ft
Languages
The Accursed Fish grew up with their human 'mother' who taught them Common, but as the Accursed Fish went their separate ways, they may have picked up a language from the people they met along the way

This race is pretty much based from a joke from a campaign with my friends, where they wanted me to include my realistic-looking fish pencilcase as an NPC so the accursed fish were born! I pretty much just wanted to write down the details of this race for my own sanity but my friend told me to publish it here as well
I'd love to hear your character ideas!! Any expansion on this concept is a welcome one :-)
