Homebrew Spiderling Species Details

Spiderlings hail from deep in the forests in small communities called Broods. Unlike most races Spiderlings are mostly a female race with most broods only having about 20% males at most. They protect their homes with traps of webs. They are humanoid creatures with spider like features.

Skittering Weavers

The spiderlings stand shorter than the average human by about half a foot. they have very human like heads with multiple pairs of eyes framed with black hair. Most of their body is covered in a hard carapace of dark hues. They have three pairs of arms and stand on two legs all of the arms have opposable thumbs.

The tiny thin hairs that cover their bodies allow them to climb walls and the slits on their arms produce a strong silky web using this they create their housing and their traps.

Names

Spiderling name themselves when they come of age by combining words based on their greatest feats of deception, hunting or cruelty — young arachni are not given any names, and are referred to by physical characteristics if at all necessary. Occasionally they use elf-like names when dealing with outsiders who venture far to their ancient woodland lairs.

Spiderling Names: Bitterscream, Deathmyth, Silkstrangle, Webwraith, Whisperquick

Eating Habits

Spiderlings only have four long sharp teeth with a small hole in the tip. because of this they first cocoon their meals in webbing before biting into it and releasing acidic juices into the food having it digest in the webbing before sucking the juice out. They can still taste the food like a human can but all of it has a slight acidic taste
