Homebrew Waspman Species Details

Buzz buzz

Waspmen are a race of demi-human that are similar in many ways to wasps.

Was inspired to make this when I read book 13 of the Monster Musume manga. Some stuff is just ripped from the Giant Wasp monster. Might add a "Royal Jelly" feature in a later version.

Waspman Traits

Stinger, Wings, Poison, Nesting, Carapace

Stinger

You gain a slightly weaker version of the Sting action from the Giant Wasp. It can also be used as a bonus action after a successful grapple.

Sting. Natural Weapon Attack: Reach 5 ft., one creature. The target must make a Constitution saving throw, taking 6 (2d6) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. If the poison damage reduces the target to 0 hit points, the target is stable but poisoned for 1 hour, even after regaining hit points, and is paralyzed while poisoned in this way.

For the saving throw DC, use 10+Half your character level.

Wings

Your wings give a flying speed of 30.

Poison

You gain proficiency with the Poisoner's Kit, and once during a Long Rest, you can use a kit to extract some poison from your stinger. This produces 3 of the "Poison, Basic (vial)" item, or one vial of poison equivalent to the "Serpent Venom" item. After doing this, you cannot use your Sting action for another 8 hours, or until you finish a Short Rest.

Nesting

Waspmen live in large nests. To make these nests and get around them, they have become skilled at burrowing and climbing. You have a burrowing and climbing speed of 20.

Carapace

You have a thick, hard shell around much of your body. Your unarmored AC increases by 2.
