Homebrew Bearfolk Species Details

Bearfolk were originally created to serve as shock troops, designed to embody their animal forebearers. Revering strength and endurance over all they spend their youth engaged in competitions designed to test and challenge these attributes to the extreme. Fiercely loyal to friends and quick to dispatch their enemies they make for powerful allies and formidably foes.

Bearfolk Traits

Your bearfolk character has certain traits deriving from your bear ancestry.

Age

Bearfolk reach adulthood at age 16 and live up to 100 years.

Alignment

Bearfolk tend towards chaotic alignments.

Powerful Build

You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.

Relentless Endurance

Years of endurance training has taught them to shrug off blows that might kill other creatures. When you are reduced to 0 Hit Points but not killed outright, you can drop to 1 hit point instead. You can’t use this feature again until you finish a Long Rest.

Ursine Build

You posses powerful paws capable of dealing grievous wounds without the aid of weapons. Your claws and teeth are natural weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal slashing damage or bludgeoning damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier.

Ursine Toughness

Your hit point maximum increases by 1, and it increases by 1 every time you gain a level.

Keen Smell

Bearfolk have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.

Ability Score Increase

Your Strength score increases by 2, and your Constitution score increases by 1.
