Homebrew Arathkin Species Details

The Arathkin are found in many heavily forested regions throughout the D&D world. They stay in small family groups, high in the trees and rarely venture out from their homes. Their strong resemblance to anthropomorphic raccoons, is both a blessing and curse. They are often killed when mistaken as a raccoon, but also have the advantage of hiding in plain sight when people think it's just some regular wild animal. When venturing into a heavily populated area, the Arathkin will often cover up their fuzzy appearance and dawn hoods to hid their faces. All this means that Arathkin are excellent at avoiding detection.

The Arathkin, are also quite curious and good with tools. They love to tinker with junk they find, or items they steal, from other races. Their treehouses are usually filled with contraptions and unique engineering of their own making. Highly intelligent, they are very good at picking up on how things work, like traps or the new fangled gunpowder weapons.
