Homebrew Beefolk Species Details

No one quite knows how the beefolk came to be, but what is known about them is their loyalty and devotion to their queen and their hive. Beefolk are defenders and explorers, willing to lay down their lives if the need arises.

Beefolk Traits

Dedicated, agile and fierce, beefolk make for great warriors and offensive attackers.

Swarm

Once per long rest, as a bonus action, you may call upon a swarm of normal bees to attack an enemy. These bees deliver 4d4 piercing damage, dying instantly after stinging your enemy.

Swift and Nimble

You have the agility of a bee. Your dexterity increases by 2, and your constitution by 1.

Sting

Once in your lifetime, you may use your oversized stinger against a target and deal powerful damage to it (3d6 piercing + 2d8 poison). However, you will also lose your stinger and take high damage yourself (4d6 slashing, plus 1d6 extra damage at the start of each of your turns until another party member can perform a DC16 medicine check on you to seal the wound).

Size

Your height is 3-4 ft, you weigh 40-60 lbs, and your size is small.

Alignment

You tend towards lawful alignments, thanks to your devotion to your hive and your queen.

Age

Beefolk live longer than the average bee, but not very long in humanoid terms. You mature at age 1, and live to be about 10 years old.

Strange Sight

You have eyes that can see in different spectrums of light than the average creature. This allows you to see in the dark, and lets you locate objects that give off hues unseen to the normal eye. Flowers and honey radiate neon, as does any object imbued with magic.
