Homebrew Cetacean Species Details

Aquatic Predators

The depths have always belonged to the monochrome Cetacean race. No other creature is as large or fearsome under the waves. And so they hunt, ranging far and wide in the ocean, never knowing enemies they could not face on equal currents. As a by product of this, Cetaceans do not know much fear, only the thrill of the hunt and the chase. This has always been true of their race. They regard smaller races as meals and larger ones as challenges to overcome. A Cetacean is resolute in their upbringing and is not likely to give up their culture for anything, preferring certain foods over others almost to the point of starving. They are aggressive and quick to anger. With their large frames and frightening teeth, it is a poor soul who offends a Cetacean.

Nomadic Aggressionists

Cetaceans live in tribes, usually led by a matriarch. This female is usually the oldest female and she decides how the tribe functions day to day. Coloration and markings also play a large part in deciphering which tribe is which.Cetaceans are adept at spotting the differences in each other's  markings, but most other races will most likely need practice in doing the same.

Monochromatic

All cetaceans have monochromatic (black and white) markings from head to toe. These markings denote their ancestry, tribe, temperment, and more besides. The angle of their dorsal fin also has meaning to the cetaceans, though other races have yet to decipher these meanings themselves.
