Homebrew Aarki Species Details
The Aarki are largely Human in appearance, but it is very obvious that they are not. They have similar skin colors to Humans, but they often have a slight grayish tint to them, almost as if they were partially dead. The irises of their eyes are much larger, almost entirely blocking out the whites of their eyes, and their eye colors, instead of brown, blue, and green, are yellow, red, and purple, with yellow being the most common and purple being the least. All Aarki have four arms sprouting from two shoulders, with two in the front and two in the back, but their shoulders have the ability to rotate when they are in danger, meaning all four arms can be used for battle if necessary. Aarki also tend to be shorter than Humans and weigh significantly more, with most of that weight being packed into muscles, as Aarki are known for their incredible strength.
Fractured
The Aarki people are known for their internal conflicts. Because of their infamous hot-headedness, they’ve splintered off into numerous clans over the years. Some are less notable than others, with the main two being Llainae clan and the Intili clan, who absolutely hate each other and often attack each other on sight. Clans can be identified by their skin tone and the war paint they wear on their faces and arms.
Due to how broken the Aarki race is, there are quite a few of them who grow up with other races. Some are raised by their biological parents, some are raised by other races, and a few haven’t even heard of their race. There are even a few who grow up feral, living in the forest and hunting down animals for food, although they rarely come into contact with other people. An Aarki’s background is essential to their character, it defines how they act towards other races.
Four Armed
Since their extra pair of arms are what make the Aarki unique, they value them above almost all else. Their belief is that hands are what allow you to interact with the world, and thus they are more important than other races because their gods gave them an extra pair. As such, whenever someone damages their arms or desecrates them in any way, the Aarki take it as a major insult. While a few go over the top, showing off their arms at all times, going completely sleeveless even in blizzards, most simply settle for excessive war paint, although no matter what, complimenting an Aarki’s arms is always the quickest way to their heart.
Aarki Names
Aarki names vary depending on their clan, but most Aarki prefer their names to pack a punch, which means they stray more towards the sounds of the letters P, K, and R. They don’t really pay attention to gender-specific names, they don’t consider names to be important.
