Homebrew Wolfman Species Details

Hairy figures, the wolfmen are similar to werewolves, but can be good or neutral. They can wield weapons, use their teeth and claws, but these creatures are never spell casters. Very predictable, but formidable in battle. They roam in packs, similar to wolves.

Wolfman Traits

Snarling, the bugbear leapt at Cor, but the hairy paladin was ready. He brought down his weapon, a large two-handed sword, slaying his opponent. Another bugbear tried to surprise him, but he flipped him over and dispatched of the bugbear with his teeth and claws.

Language

Wolfmen speak in common, and are able to speak to other wolves of any sort while in humanoid form. 

Ability Score Increase

Your Strength score is increased by 2 and your Dexterity score by 1.

Age

Wolfman grow and mature at the same rate as humans do.

Wolf Heritage

Wolfmen can transform into a wolf every 10 days, giving them increased speed (to 45) and stamina (they can run for a day without tiring or needing a long rest).  They lose their ability to speak or use weapons or any other normal humaniod abilities.   They gain a wolf's nose for tracking a scent, so are able to follow a creature whose scent can be clearly identified.  For every 3 levels they are able to do this one extra time per 10 day period.

Alignment

They tend to be chaotic, but can be any of good, evil, or neutral. 

Greater Wolf Heritage

At 8th level, Wolfman can transform 1/10 days into winter or dire wolf, with special speed of 60.  They lose their ability to speak while transformed.  This ability increases in frequency for every 4 levels after 8th.

Darkvision

They have excellent vision and Darkvision, being able to see 120' in any light. 

Size

Medium Humanoid, long-limbed and lean in body, with broader than normal shoulders.
