Homebrew Astral Pact Undead Species Details
Warlocks within the Realmspace that have entered into a pact with Zhudun, the Corpse Star, surrender their life and enter into undeath.
Astral Pact Undead Traits
It’s hard to make generalizations about undead, but your undead character has these traits.Darkvision
You have superior vision in dark and dim Conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in Darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in Darkness, only Shades of Gray.
Undead Nature
Your skin appears gray and sallow. You have resistance to Necrotic Damage, but are vulnerable to Radiant damage.
Your creature type is both humanoid and undead. It is treated as undead for effects that target undead, but is otherwise treated as humanoid for the purposes of spells & and effects that would have no effect on undead.
Restless Undead
Undead do not require sleep. Instead of sleeping, they may enter a trance-like state for four hours, during which necromantic energies set to work repairing their bodies. This grants the same benefits as a long rest.
Relic from the Past
You retain one racial trait of your choice from your current body's race.
Undead Constitution
Your Constitution increases by 1. You also no longer need to eat, breath, or sleep to survive. You gain no effect from potions and elixirs.
Age
Your appearance remains the same age as it was when you became undead.
Alignment
Good aligned undead are rare and hard to find.
Size
You are whatever size you were when you became undead.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common and one extra language of your choice.

Posted Mar 9, 2021Damn, this sounds like exactly what I need! One question though, under Undead Constitution it says that the player gains "no effect from potions and elixirs". How is this explained in-lore? Like, why would Cure Wounds work, but not a Potion of Healing?
