Homebrew Crystal Gem Species Details

This race of varying she creatures rang in color and size from an amber tiny creature, to gargantuan ruby colored creatures. They have a gem that is the same color as they are and are able to create  objects out of it. They all specialize in different magics. As they grow older they gain the ability to merge combining powers and creating one centered mind. They're society is ruled by 3 main crystals. They are Blue Diamond, Yellow Diamond, and White Diamond. They all are all tyrants, leading armies to kill and colonize other planets not under their control. Some gems are referred to as "Off Colors" are not part off an army or group. Their only god is Uranium, the god of underground spaces, war and death. When depicted she wears a crown of shimmering gemstones radiating with an aura of radioactivity and destructive power. She is prayed to in all ranks in the army before a siege or battle. They live mostly on their planet, Homeworld, but many can be found living on other planets.

Crystal Gem Traits

Gem glow, object creation, merging, and shattering.

Gem glow

The gem connected to their body glows with a faint light, colored to the gems color. This creates a bright glow for 10ft and dim glow for another 5ft. 

Merging

As an action you can merge with a willing gem within 5ft. Your ability scores are doubled the average of your scores (ex: +5/+1=+3=+6). Your hit points are doubled (if your combination is dealt half all damage and is at 0 hit points they split and are both unconscious.). As a pair you get to decide what your character looks like staying within normal physical limits. This trait can be used only once every short or long rest. 

Object Creation

You can keep all belongings smaller than a backpack in your gem as cosmic energy. As an action you can summon an item from your gem. It will take 1 round to fully form in your hand.

Shattering

When a gem is brought to 0 hit points it is shattered. They explode in a shower of glowing sparks leaving behind their gem. They can be regenerated by being dropped in lava.

Tyrant Ruling

Their rulers being tyrants have turned them and corrupted them. This can turn them into monsters but only at extremes. Their ruling usually turns them chaotic to lawful evil.
