Fungal Kinships

Beacán are a strange race not seen by many, they live in the depths of forests often in the prime material plane, the feywild, and the shadowfell. Beacán origins are as wild as they look, some believe they are the children of the wild mother, others are sure their origins are strictly from the meddling of the fey, but one thing is known by all, they are strange and that they will stay. Beacán come in all shapes and sizes some small some gargantuan others are hardly seen to the naked eye, their appearances do share some similar qualities, some have short stocky humanoid bodies while others are as thin as tree branches, some have rather large flat caps while others have smaller pointer ones, most beacán skin is textured like bark speckled in lichen and moss while some have smooth untouched flesh that seem to give off the faintest glow.

Symbiotic Curiosity

most Beacán are self reliant in their own tribes deep in the forests, many never interact with the surrounding world, a few are known to wonder out in search of a plant speaker if their people become sick, while others are filled with a slight bit more wonderlust for the surrounding lands and sneak out and hide among the shrubs and bushes of small villages wondering what those weird creatures are doing in their dead tree holdings. there are said to be some villages who have learned to live alongside small tribes of Beacán as they live symbiotically learning and trading with each other, druids are their favourite visitors and do well to treat them kindly if one is to stumble into their mists.

Beacán Names

Beacán don't usually have names in untouched tribes, they normally communicate directly and often have the slightest of insight that they are needed from other members of their kin, but some tribes that have been exposed to the traditions of civilisation often take the names of whatever fills them with curiosity, such curiosities could be: lampshade, kettle, door, pathway, shrubs, fork, and other such objects that could be easily found by them
