Homebrew Bovin Species Details
Bovin are horned humanoids with cloven feet, they tend to have very short hair all over their bodies and exhibit random colored spots. Bovin tend to be colored light tan, brown, black, or white and tend to be around 6-and-a-half feet tall. Bovin live in small tribal communities at the very edges of civilization, usually on large hills, in mountain ranges, in forests, or other such places that have a natural barrier between them and other races. The villages bovin build are usually wooden with a wooden wall surrounding almost all, if not all, of their village. They have calm demeanor but train from birth in case push ever comes to shove, and if you ever do agitate one then you should get out of it's way.
Bovin Traits
Bovin are somewhat similar to minotaurs but have more of a human body and are slightly less bulky.Ability Score Increase
Your Strength score increases by 2, and your Wisdom score increases by 1.
Age
Bovin mature at around age 15 and can live up to 120 years.
Alignment
Bovin usually live in small sheltered communities, trying to stay away from civilization due to a natural distrust of almost all other races. While they are reclusive and distrustful, once they make a friend they are very accepting and caring. Bovin are almost always lawful but gravitate towards usually neutrality or good.
Size
Bovin are usually just over 6 feet tall and usually weigh between 200 and 300 pounds. Your size is Medium.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Charge
If you move at least 20 feet in a straight line towards a target and then make an attack with your horns you can use charge. The target must then succeed on a Strength saving throw or be pushed up to 10 feet away and be knocked prone. The DC for the save is 8 + your Strength modifier + your proficiency bonus.
Horns
You have a set of horns that can be used to make a melee weapon attack. You are proficient with your horns, which deal 1d6 + your Strength modifier in piercing damage.
Powerful Build
You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.
Raised to Survive
Bovin are taught how to handle themselves in a fight as soon as they can walk. You gain proficiency in medium armor, light armor, heavy crossbows, mauls, and short swords.
Steadfast Endurance
When you are reduced to 0 hit points, but not killed outright, you can drop to 1 hit point instead. You can’t use this feature again until you finish a long rest. In addition you do not suffer the effects of the first level of exhaustion, but do suffer the subsequent levels of exhaustion.
