Homebrew Amazon of the Scarlet Coast Species Details
These were the stories of a restless people led by a proud warrior-queen who long ago took to the seas and rivers in longboats, travelling to distant shores for plunder and riches but instead encountered ancient powers both mysterious and fell. The Amazons were one of the oldest myths about these travelers, women who fought for survival in an alien world of old gods.
She’d never given much thought to these ancient warrior women, but these stories fascinated her. In these yellowed pages were tales of bold heroines, strange and fierce titans, mighty primitive gods, and a secretive magic that was part and fabric of that distant land.
The Scarlet coast is the home of ancient powers and legendary beasts, true monolithic monsters that would make the world tremble were they ever to cross the seas to the greater continents. The old powers still wander the jungles and lost ruins, ghosts of their former selves, but still terrifying in their might and deathly abilities. Travelers and explorers go missing in the jungles daily. The amazons know why.
Were it not for the diligence and fortitude of these proud warrior women, the world would be a very different place. Trained form birth to be valiant, steadfast, and fearless, the Amazons are a true breed apart from all others. Nominally human in appearance, they could pass for any woman or lady in the lands, except for their great height and musculature. Millennia of survival in the jungles has bred an evolved being that can run with the fastest of hunting cats, swim with the graceful and elusive dolphins, match the aerial acrobatics of high branch monkeys, and fight like a pack of the fiercest wolves, fearless and ever tracking their prey.

Amazons vary marginally in height and build. The smaller women still reach an astounding 6 feet tall, while the most dangerous of have been known to reach heights of 8 feet. They weigh in from 220 to 450 pounds. Regardless of your position in that range, your size is Medium.

Your base walking speed is 40 feet.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common and one extra language of your choice. Amazons typically learn the languages of the kingdom of Thule ( elf, dwarf, hafling, orc ) if they are tasked with trading with Thule as an emissary, while others learn the secret languages of the old ways. Amazons may choose Deep Speech and xxxxx as additional languages.
