Homebrew Amazon Species Details

Amazons are a race of warrior women descended from the daughters of Huhtam. They are brutal and aggressive, spending most of their lives engaged in war. The amazons can be engaged as allies only by brave and noble female commanders. They are likely to turn on any man who seeks their services, slaughtering his people in an instant. They are skilled in various types of combat, but particularly pride themselves on their cavalry skills. Although their paths seldom meet, amazons are natural allies of centaurs. The amazons clad themselves in armour made from hydra skins. 

Amazons are merciless after defeating an enemy. They are known to treat captives savagely, killing men and enslaving children and women, and raze whole cities to the ground. This serves as a warning to others. Amazons are willing to accept an enemy's surrender, accepting them as a friend.  

Amazons live in isolated tribes, communicating with outsiders only to reproduce, and raising only female offspring. Male children are left in the hills surrounding nearby villages, where either they are adopted or die. Upon reaching puberty, amazons undergo a single mastectomy, sacrificing the breast of their dominant side to better use their weapons. An amazon is not considered to have fully achieved adulthood until she has killed her first enemy in battle.
