Homebrew dovahkiin "Ravenite" Species Details

A tankier sub race of dragonborn they have thicker bones and a denser hide than their cousins, they are typically on the larger side of Medium creatures. Physically imposing, the dovahkiin are distinct for their lack frills on the cheeks and ears. Standing on average around 6'4" – 7'8", dovahkiin are impressively tall with a heavy weight to match, commonly possessing a weight of 320–420 lbs. Dovahkiin  legs are thick and strong, their feet are wide with four strong talon-like claws, their hands are  similar with three  wide claws with a slimmer thumb claw. A dovahkiin's head featured a blunt snout, a strong brow. On the back of the head, some but not all have a crest of hornlike scales formed what resembled a  of  mess ropy hair, or horns like spikes. dovahkiin eyes were usually a complementary hue to their scale hide.
Like dragonborn they also exhibited many draconic features, including a scaly hide, a large muscular body, the capacity to use a  breath weapon
, and resistance to the same elemental energy they can breathe, thanks to their draconic heritage. Because of thousands of years of interbreeding, the scales a dragonborn wore were scarlet, gold, rust, ochre, bronze, or brown in hue, though a few dragonborn with an stronger draconic heritage had scales resembling those of true dragons. The color of their scales bore little correlation to a dragonborn's draconic heritage, however. The scales were typically in their greatest concentration around forearms, lower legs, feet, shoulders, and thighs, with a very fine leathery covering over the rest of the body. Like dragons, dragonborn were often mistaken for lizard folk , but were in fact warm-blooded draconic creatures. In fact, the internal body temperature of the dovahkiin can be warmer or cooler than that of most similar races, being so hot as to seem feverish to the human touch, or cold that they can produce a light mist on hot days, some can even have a constant static build up causing light shocks to any who would touch them.

When you use your breath weapon, each creature in the area of the exhalation must make a saving throw, the type of which is determined by your draconic ancestry. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus. A creature takes 2d6 damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The damage increases to 3d6 at 6th level, 4d6 at 11th level, and 5d6 at 16th level. After you use your breath weapon, you can’t use it again until you complete a short or long rest.

Damage Resistance
