Homebrew Axolotl Species Details

Some people distrust the unfamiliar, that's not so For Axolotl,  hey are naturally friendly and ready to help. No one knows this better than other cave-dwelling races. Axolotl have advantage on all Charisma and Wisdom saving throws against Dwarves, Gnomes. and other cave-dwelling humanoids.

Axolotl Traits

External Gills. No set of gills are the same, some, extending anywhere from 11 to 22 inches from the back of the neck/head region. These gills provide a large surface area for gas exchange, making breathing underwater easier and allowing for greater sense of smell. Desperate Measures. When you are grappled, as a bonus action you can use your autotomy to shed one or more of your appendages and flee up to half your regular movement speed. Axolotl regeneration. You are capable of regenerating one lost limb or vital organ per uninterrupted long rest. At level 10 you gain an additional hit dice from short rest. At level 17' you can regenerate 1d4 limbs. Your axolotl character has an assortment of inborn abilities, standard to axolotl nature. Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score is increased by 2. Age. Typically adulthood is reached in 20 years and axolotl maintain their youthful appearance and can live upward to about 100 years.

Usually of a Good alignment, it is extremely rare and difficult for an axolotl to succumb to evil - though not impossible.

You can speak, read, and write Common, Axolotl, and either Dwarven, Gnonlish, Goblin, or Halfling.

Size

Axolotl typically grow to between 4 and a half to 6 feet tall, average around 90-120 pounds. Their size is Medium. 

Speed

Your base walking speed is 25 feet. Base swimming speed is 35 feet.
