Homebrew Boletus Species Details

Boletie live deep in the forests, in the swamps, in caves, rotting forests, anywhere where mushrooms can grow there’s a chance to find a small settlement of them. A boletus has a skin texture similar to a mushroom stem, and instead of hair they have lots of mushrooms sprouting up from their head. They have what look like eyes, but what are actually light-sensitive mushroom heads in their sockets, along with a mouth, but they don’t have a nose or ears. Although they can smell and hear through scent and noise sensitive organs that are just under their skin, and have receptors that are small enough to not be noticed. And they do indeed have a skeletal structure, as they can take in proteins and other materials in the way that other humanoids can, but they can also eat stuff that would normally be inedible.

Due to being a mushroom person, you have spores that fall from you, mainly your feet, the mushrooms grow at an alarming rate, and the only way to stop them is to wear an item on your feet. That item, if not made of stone or metal will have mushrooms grow in and on it, causing damage to the item.
