Homebrew Chimeran Species Details

Magically engineered by a now dead collection of druids, for a war long past, the Chimeran were a race created and bread for war. Taking from the best aspects of the most vicious monsters and fierce warrior races from across the galaxy, the Chimeran were much like the monster their name was derived from. Tall, muscular, fanged, horned, armored, and with extra vital organs, the Chimeran were created using parts of orcs, minotaurs, bulletes, lycanthropes, and lizardmen, in addition to bits of various other monsters the druids could find. The result was as powerful and savage as intended, but also had a rebellious streak and pride that is now fabled across the stars. It is due to the same pride and rebellious nature that drove the Chimeran to rise up and slay their creators, while simultaneously accomplishing the purpose of their design by bringing an end to the war in the same fell swoop.

Chimeran culture is one of pride and honor. Chimeran serve no masters and have no kings. They are not bound to one world. They formed themselves into tribes and warclans that traveled across the galaxy looking for challenges to test themselves against. Many tribes have found moons or worlds to set up bases or villages on, but they are never truly a stationary people, often leaving these settlements for the next clan of Chimeran that might come along and wish to use it.

Chimeran leaders aren't kings, nor are they the mightiest warriors who have taken rule by force. Chimeran leaders are chosen from among the tribe, and the title of Chieftain is awarded to the individual seen as the most honorable from amongst the tribe. Upon reaching adulthood, a Chimeran youth undergoes a ritual specific to their tribe and earns the rank of Battleborn.

While many Chimeran stay with their tribe, others venture off to make their own way across the stars. After all, no one can command the actions of a Chimeran without their consent. Regardless of where they may be found, there are no more sought after warriors and mercenaries throughout the Etherium than the Chimeran.
