Homebrew Cookiefolk Species Details

Whether crafted in the kitchen of a powerful mage or blessed by an Archfey, you have been gifted sentience and life. Often mischievous, elusive, and chaotic, these baked goods will prove that they are anything but sweet.

Cookiefolk Traits

Your elf character has a variety of natural abilities, the result of thousands of years of elven refinement.

Ability Score Increase

Your Dexterity score increases by 2 and your Charisma score increases by 1.

Age

The life of a Cookiefolk is full of thrills, though usually short. Even though their animating magic gives them some level of added durability, the average Cookiefolk tends to degrade after a year as it is exposed to the elements. In ideal circumstances, if a Cookiefolk were to remain completely insulated and protected, it can theoretically survive indefinitely.

Alignment

Cookiefolk yearn for freedom and mischief, and tend to be Chaotic aligned.

Size

As part of the animation process, Cookiefolk grow from anywhere between 4 to over 6 feet tall. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Can't Catch Me!

Many have attempted this feat, but try as they might, few can catch you. While not wearing armor, your base walking speed is increased by 10 feet. Additionally, you have advantage on any ability check or saving throw to evade capture or escape bindings. Lastly, your narrow frame allows you to squeeze through tight spaces. You can move through any opening if it is at least a 6 inches wide and 3 feet high.

The Way the Cookie Crumbles

Your brittle, crumbly body gives you vulnerability to piercing, bludgeoning, and slashing damage. To aid in your sustainability, the residual animating magic in your body gives you access to the Mending cantrip. When the Mending cantrip is cast on you, you gain 1d6 hit points.

Culinary Prowess

You have lived your entire life connected to the culinary arts. You gain proficiency with Cook's Utensils.

Awakened Physiology

Since all of your nutrition is already baked in, and you have no organs that require fuel, you have no need to eat, drink, or sleep. Additionally, you have advantage on any ability check or saving throw to resist gaining a level of exhaustion.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and Sylvan.
