Homebrew Wraith Species Details

Someone must live a life filled with hate, but in life isn't were the wraith comes from. Once the person dies their soul refuses to enter into the afterlife, instead it comes back as a violent, life hating apparition. The wraith's goals are usually centered around killing anything that lives purely out of spite. Nothing in their mortal life can even jog their memory they may look at something they once loved stopping them only slightly but to no avail as it wont do anything for this vengeful creature.

Wraith Traits

Wraiths are best known for their ghostly body, necromatic powers, and disdain for sunlight.

Darkvision (60ft)

Being a ghost has it's advantages such as being able to see in the dark

Undead

Not having a living body comes quite in handy as you no longer need all the trivial things such as food, air, and sleep that mortals require.

Bereft of Body

Not having a corporeal body comes in handy, you are unable to be held by any manner. Poison has no effect on you as you have to blood for it to course through. Necrotic damage will still hurt your soul and try to kill you once and for all. Even mortal objects such as boxes, people, and doors can't stop you from passing through them. (As long as the DM approves, you can go through anything or only permitted objects)

Sunlight Sensitivity

The thing that you once relied on for life now makes your current life even harder to live. These mortals also have weapons that now contain the power of the sun, which burn your ghostly body just as much as those silvered weapons do.

Life Drain

With your ghastly hands you are able to strike the soul itself of whatever target you desire.

Innate Spellcasting

Being a wraith you have gained to ability to create undead at will.

Wraith Empowerment

Not wanting a soul to pass into the afterlife you decide that it should serve you instead.
