Homebrew Aldaar Species Details

Born into the western coastal regions of the continent of Iveris, this human sub-race has a natural ability to control the positive Aether that runs through the world. Manifesting this power into a physical form by turning the pure Aether into feathered wings. Each Aldaar has an innate ability to slightly control a small part of the Aether that exists in the world around them. This ability has led the Aldaaran race to many technological advancements by way of using the positive Aether to forge their weapons, armor, tools and even the literal building blocks that hold up their civilization. The Aldaar vary in appearance from hair color to bone structure, the only distinguishing feature of an Aldaar is that of their faintly glowing blue eyes. Depending on the purity of an Aldaar's connection to the Aether, their eyes may be a more intense darker blue or in rare cases completely white.

The governmental structure of the Aldaaran cities is that of a council ruled monarchy. The King rules from the Capitol city of Hondar and governs the laws within the city while the council handles affairs outside the walls. The Aldaar have a friendly relationship with some of the Tassian cities that are near the northern borders of their empire, but they maintain no relations with any of the other races on Iveris. The Aldaar remain "supposedly" neutral, holding nothing but indiffereance to most of the other races. A long standing myth that influences most of the older Aldaar is that the Darcci were once a part of their race that fell to the darker vices of the world and lost their wings.

 

Aldaaran Cities

Maanor

The coastal sailing town of the Aldaaran race. This town specializes in a massive export of goods, to not only the rest of the Aldaar cities but also to the surrounding farmlands and even into Tassian lands. Ruled by an elected governor that reports directly to the council in Hondarr.

Hondar

The capitol city of the entire Aldaaran Empire, its large white walls can be seen throughout most of the western coast. A royal district surrounded by walls resides just past the busy streets of a giant bustling city.

Relnarr

A forested farming city that is spread out between the forests edge and low rolling hills. Relnarr is the furthest inland of the Aldaaran cities and is considered rural to the rest of the Empire.

Vaalor

The center for knowledge within the Aldaaran Empire, Vaalor is more of a large town  built on the edge of a large cliff that overlooks the ocean. An enormous tower built on a jagged outcropping of rocks stands just off the coast of Vaalor. Aldaar with a stronger connection to the Aether are usually brought here and taught how to use their powers.

Aldaar Traits

It’s hard to make generalizations about humans, but your human character has these traits.

Aether Surge

You force the Aether around to materialize as wings on your back. You gain a flying speed of 45 feet and your wings last for one minute before disappearing into the particles.

Ability Score Increase

An ability score of your choice increases by 2.

Age

Humans reach adulthood in their late teens and live less than a century.

Alignment

 Aldaar are always a Good alignment. The worst of the Aldaar are considered neutral.

Size

Humans vary widely in height and build, from barely 5 feet to well over 6 feet tall. Regardless of your position in that range, your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common.
