Homebrew Xozz (Freedom Bugs) Species Details

Description

 A large perceptive eye dominates the face of the Xozz, with 2 small sensory organs located on the left and right of the eye. Two mandibles sit on the side of the mouth, helping with expressions and eating/talking. Two sets of arms adorn their torso. Each ending in a three fingered hand, the wrist and fingers have the thickest of it’s natural chitin.

The Xozz have a very soft exoskeleton that only segments on the arms/neck/shins/feet/hands/insect-abdominal. Otherwise it is flexible enough that it needs not be segmented. They possess a vestigial insectoid abdomen that sits above their rear, this can be removed without much issue from the Xozz. their color palate tends towards warm or cool colors, hardly mixing. 

The eyes are often an Amber, or a dull golden color. Rarely are they different colors than those listed.

 

Culture

The Xozz comes from a culture that respects the individuality of each member, respects their freedoms and rights. Fairly isolationist(but friendly) they prefer to be left alone and to leave well enough alone. However, they will also adamantly defend their neighbors and their communities. Preferring to die than live chained or under any boot, the Xozz are a pain to any tyrant or would be Tyrant. As such, they sometimes clash with more restrictive societies. 

Size

Ranging from 4 to nearly 5'5, the Xozz are considered a small race.

Alignment

Chaotic, Chaotic, Chaotic. One would be hard pressed to find a Xozz without a wild fire burning in their soul. Otherwise, you'll find that they can flip between Good, Evil, and between.

Ability Score Increases 

WIS is increased by 2. Increase two other Scores by 1

Fury of the Free

When you damage a creature with an attack or a spell and the creature’s size is larger than yours, you can cause the attack or spell to deal extra damage to the creature. The extra damage equals your level. Once you use this trait, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

 Four Arms

Interactions with objects using hands only costs a bonus action.

Self sufficient Living

 Xozz gain a feat! Any Feat will do.

Age

At the age of 16 a Xozz is considered an adult, most die by the age of a 100 years

As small and chaotic as the Xozz are, they all share a certain amount of traits.

Size

Due to their natural short stature, the Xozz are not considered medium, rather they are small.

Alignment

Chaotic, Chaotic, Chaotic. One would be hard pressed to find a Xozz without a wild fire burning in their soul. Otherwise, you'll find that they can be anything between Good, Evil, and Neutral.

Due to the general lifestyle choice of self sufficient living, the Xozz gain a feat related to their style of living.

Xozz know their own language, which Gith will stand in for.

They know one other language and common.

Ability Score Increases

Due to the massive eye and their reliance upon it, Xozz enjoy a +2 bonus to WIS.

However, due to their chaotic and free nature, they have a +1 bonus in two other scores.
