Homebrew Yuan-ti Species Details

The Yuan-ti were once great rulers of ancient empires, stretching across many lands. They worshipped the serpent gods of old, yet as their quest for power grew, they forsook their humanity in order to resemble the gods they wished to become. Yuan-ti are reclusive folk who are shunned by all society except their own. finding a Yuan-ti hero like the ancient, noble warriors they once were is rare.

Yuan-ti Traits

The Yuan-ti, with their serpentine form, have many advantages over other races due to their natural venom and scaly bodies, along with their almost silent movement.

Ability Score Increase

As a Yuan-ti, your strength represents that of a snake, and your heritage is clear among your serpentine features. You gain a +2 bonus to Strength and a +1 bonus to Charisma.

Darkvision

You amber eyes, hightened by your snakish form, give you Darkvision out to 30 feet.

Scale Body

Your hardened scales give you a natural armour superior to that of lesser folk. Calculate your AC by 13 + your Dexterity modifier while not wearing armour.

Venomous

Yuan-tis are not afraid of the substance they revere. You gain resistance to poison damage.

At 3rd level, you are able to administer your powerful venom to another creature. You can use your action by biting a creature.

Bite: Melee unarmed attack, reach 5 ft, one target. You deal 2 + your Strength modifier piercing damage, as well as 1d4 poison damage. You can choose to grapple the target. Use your Strength modifier for the attack roll.
