Homebrew Veggie Plump ( Qwest! ) Species Details

A small and adorable race of plump plant-like creatures, Veggie Plumps are a simple people who seek adventure and fame. These squishy boys are always looking for quests ( Qwest! ), and will do everything in their power to accomplish said task to the best of their abilities. Once finished, they will come back to the giver of said quest seeking praise, like a small child. Their vocabulary is limited and they tend to pronounce words wrong. However, this tends to make them cuter and more child-like. Their appearance varies greatly, but they always have one thing in common, Which is being very squishy, chunky, and adorable, and having a plant-like features. They usually tend to be on the good side of the spectrum, with a simple drive to complete quests. If something or someone makes that goal easier, they will most likely use or partner up with it / them. Veggie Plumps are quite clumsy, often dropping things or tripping, and usually lack common sense. This usually gets them into situations that might hinder their goal, but they somehow manage to make it anyways. The age of Veggie Plumps is... strange. All Veggie Plumps feel the pull for adventure and are rarely not on a quest. As such, most Veggie Plumps die from quests rather than old age. Very few have died of old age and there isn't enough of them that it's well known information. As such, few people know the lifespan of a Veggie Plump. A Veggie Plump who is unskilled might last 30 years if they are lucky to not die, while a Skilled Adventurer Plump could last 100 - 200 years if they took quests that are around their skill level. But there isn't really a limit... Not to mention the only visual difference in age is usually tied to size of plant features. A cactus Plump might have larger prickles, for instance. But it isn't a consistent enough difference to measure. Alas, they usually don't track age by years, but rather quests ( Qwest! ) completed, as it shows how achieved they are.

Ability Score Adjustments

A Veggie Plump is quite a chunky race, and gets a +2 Constitution to add to it. The More Constitution, The Chunkier they are. Their adorableness makes it hard to say no, giving them a +1 to their Charisma.

Size.

While height varries greatly from plump to plump, Ranging from 1' 8" to 3' 5". Either way, your small. Very small.

Speed

Your movement speed is 25 feet.

Languages

You can speak Common. However your vocabulary is Limited and you often say incomplete sentences. This doesn't make it harder for you to understand people, just the other way around.

Cutie

Once per long rest as a bonus action, you can force a creature within 30 feet of you to make a wisdom saving throw ( DC 8 + prof + Con). On a failed save, the creature is charmed by you. While charmed this way, the creature makes silly faces and speaks in funny voices in an attempt to entertain you and sing praise of your adorableness, as if you were a cute, golden baby. The target remakes this save if they take damage.

Lovable by Nature

You are friend of almost everything, including the forces of nature! You can communicate with plants and animals through gestures and small phrases. All creatures of the Plant and Beast type can understand and communicate simple ideas with you. You can fully understand Plants as if they were intelligent creatures.

Unwavering Determination!

Your Stubbornness and lack of common sense allows you to push further than your normal limits to complete a quest! You can add your Constitution modifier ( Minimum 1) to all Death Saving throws that you make. And what's more, when you are at 0 hit points you can heal yourself an amount of hit points equal to your level! However, this is pushing your body further than it should be able to go, and you suffer 1 point of exhaustion on heal. But its all for the quest!

Nature's gift.

Being a Veggie Plump, Nature has gifted you with a sweet ability! This ability is determined by what type of Plump you are, but use whatever best fits your vision. For instance, the Cactus Plump trait can be taken by a Vine Plump covered in Thorns, or a Rose Plump... also covered in thorns.
