Homebrew Yautja Species Details
The Yautja are a proud race of tribal hunters. These people live in the deepest parts of forests and jungles. The society of the Yautja are entirely based on honor, to a Yautja, if you break your code of honor, you are less than worthless. Yautja are rarely ever fluent in common, usually speaking their own language. Yautja are naturally big game hunters, targeting the largest creatures they can find, even going after dragons. The ideal way to die in Yautja society is death in battle, your life ending honorably. There are many mysteries to the Yautja, including how their tribes are built, where they came from, or even where they get the metal for their equipment. Yautja very rarely enter civilizations of other races, and when they do, it is usually in the form of a raid.
Yautja Traits
Though little is know about the sociaty of the Yautja, the general racial traits of them are quite well documented.Ability Score Increase
People fear the Yautja for good reason, due to the increase of two to both their strength and dexterity. The thing is, since they almost never interact with anything other than another Yautja, their Charisma is decreased by two as well.
Age
The Yautja apparenty reach adulthood after their first hunt, but their bodies are at full maturity at the ripe age of 33. Yautja are believed to live life spans of up to 3000 years, though that is only an estimate.
Alignment
Mostly, if not entirely True Neutral.Though the Yautja are violent hunters, they still have their code of honor. Usually if a Yautja is even really aligned at all, they tend to sway towards true neutrality.
Size
Yautja are usually between 6 and 7 feet tall. They weigh between 400 and 450 lbs. Your size is medium.
Speed
Yautja hunt aggressively, even out of their forest home. On the ground they can walk for 50 ft, but they can also climb and swim for 20 ft.
Darkvision
Yautja hunt in any time of day, and as such have Darkvision, namely 60 ft of it. They also have a form of truesight that spans 60 ft.
Martial Hunter
The Yautja are predators skilled the art of using and making martial weapons. They make these weapons from metal and animal bone usually. They have proficiency in Survival to obtain these materials. Their snarls can also strike fear in some of the bravest people, giving them proficiency in Intimidation as well.
Predatory Glare
Three times a day, a Yautja can cast the spell Predatory Glare as a reaction to the last creature that hit them. The creature has to make a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw and on a fail, they get the bane effect.
Predatory Assault
Yautja are aggressive predators, and thanks to this, they can either use a bonus action to dash or to get a second attack.
Assault Proficiency
Yautja can be proficient in either a Wrath Assault or a Tactical Assault. The Wrath Assault give Athletics Proficiency, the Tactical Assault give Acrobatics Proficiency.
Big Game Hunter
The Yautja are big game hunters and as such have a special way of focusing on one target. The Yautja have the ability to cast Hunter's mark as a cantrip.
Languages
The Yautja don't actually speak common. They instead only speak their own language and Thieves cant, making their ability to communicate with other races rather difficult.
