Homebrew Arietalis Species Details

Arietalis are what some believe to be fey creatures that evolved to imitate creatures of the forest, often referred as protectors of the fey forests, extremely graceful and speedy with powerful animalistic traits to help them glide through trees

Primal instincts

These creatures seem to keep a lot of their basic instincts of survival and habits, while at the same time trying to imitate a society, they are often seen as savage, primal and are often feared or misunderstood by society people and norms

Forest Protectors

Arietalis come from a massive dynasty of fey creatures. Nobody knows when the split happened between these cratures and arietalis, often associated with deer spirits they seem to still have a similar mindset as their ancestors, protect the forest, protect the wild, with every fiber of your being, while there are gods that specifically take care of forests, arietalis dont seem to be religious in any way shape or form, any rituals anybody would see them do are always in service of nature, rather than to a diety, to them the forest provides, the forest takes and the forest keeps the balance, and in exchange we should give back to it.

Affinity for Nature

Arietalis have an affinity for the natural world. Among the guilds that share that affinity, arietalis favor forests in general but prefer the insanely lush forest of the feywilds, these lands seem to bend to their movement, there are rare cases where they make other ecosystems their homes, but are easier to find in forests

Arietalis tend to keep some of their fey traits, trying to adapt to common customs for sentient creatures has not gone through perfectly so they tend to care less for the life of others rather than the life and soul of the forest they live and or protect

Clans and Community

Arietalis tend to live in large villages expanding throught the forest (or ecosystem) they have claimed as their home, hollowing out trees or making nests on the top of the treelines, occacional simple houses connected by suspension bridges, but most commonly communities dont make a lot of tools or man made structures and just live in the forest as is, each community usually ranges around thirty or less arietalis

Arietalis living in society are extremely rare, but not impossible, some of them decide to leave the clan to find a new forest, some of them failed their mission and their forest was destroyed and are now drifting away in search for a new home, the people who destroyed it or  a way to restore it, and the most rare of cases is that they no longer felt the call of the forest

You have the ability to communicate in a limited manner with beasts and plants. They can understand the meaning of your words, though you have no special ability to understand them in return. You have advantage on all Charisma checks you make to influence them.

Ability Score Increase

Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and your Constitution score increases by 1.

Age

Arietalis mature around the same age as humans and age up to 500 years

Alignment

Arietalis are inclined toward neutrality. Depending on the forest they settle in  they may waver in the chaos that is the wild, most of them tend to be true neutral and chaotic neutral

Size

Arietalis stand between 5 and 8 feet tall. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 40 feet.

Humanoid

Your creature type is humanoid.

Fey Ancestry

You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep.

Hooves

Your hooves are natural melee weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal bludgeoning damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.

Forest Dweller

You have proficiency in one of the following skills of your choice: Acrobatics, Nature, or Survival.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and Sylvan. Sylvan is widely spoken in the Selesnya Conclave, for it is rich in vocabulary to describe natural phenomena and spiritual forces.
