Homebrew DemonHeart Species Details

Corrupted, broken, betrayed the demonhearts had their lives completely uprooted by powers outside of their control. Do they wish to go back to normal, is that even possible? Or maybe they want revenge on those who made them into monsters and won't let death catch up to them until the debt is settled.

Born normal Turned Horrible

Many if not all were born or created normal from the start of their lives, only to be transformed by force or out of curiosity. To be transformed it is believed that the heart or the flesh of a demon must be consumed. The flesh of a tiefling half or full will not work for this transformation experiments have concluded but can this rare item is a secret lost to time. All that is known is people with this heart are made sterile by the the transformation. 

How are they born?

The process of becoming a Demonheart is shrouded in mystery and rumors. Some whisper that eating demon flesh under a full moon will forever change them, forced feeding them then performing a ritual contract for their soul in exchange of their own heart. Even the idea that they must first be killed and have their still beating heart ripped out and replaced with that of a demon's will bring upon the change.

Hiding From the Hunters, the Power Starved, Others like Them and the Common Folk

The power contained in their hearts is sought by all who want unbelievable power and 'immortality'. Their own kind will hunt each other to gain more power as well as new abilities.

Seen as monsters by normal people they must live in hiding or face death and experimentation by curious mages trying to unlock the hidden secrets of their blackened hearts.

They look like whatever starting race you choose, only they have black corrupted hearts.

 Your ability scores each increase by 1 if starting as human otherwise ability score changes according to chosen starting base race.

Depends on starting base race

Alignment

No particular alignment. The best and the worst are found among them.

Size

They vary widely in height and build, from barely 5 feet to well over 6 feet tall. Regardless of your position in that range, your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common, Abyssal or Primordial and one extra language of your choice.
