Homebrew Caprinoid Species Details

"Tales of the caprinoids have once been only known as fairy tales. However, it was soon known that they were not just myths. The caprinoids live isolated from common civilizations, and tend to trade with other caprinoids, however, they are more than happy to do business with customers of distant lands. Whatever the mountains offered, changed them. They are forever tied in a struggle between societies who value freedom for all and an opportunity to take control of one's own destiny, and societies seeking financial power fueled by the weak, be it through exploitative monopolies enslaving the poor, independent crime organizations from within or even brute conquest."

Merchants of the Mountains

Caprinoids are world-renowned merchant societies built for trade. They tend to make their own arms and militias, should they need to defend themselves. The wealthiest often get to call the shots in terms of large scale building projects in order to scale their businesses, and often have enough disposable capital to hire personal militia guards, or even create a government system of their own for their societies.

"What the Mountain Offers Changes the Horned Ones."

Caprinoid society is heavily shaped by what the mountains offer them. If it offers them an earthy home with fertile soil, you will see more dryads and clerics who feel at home with the nature, ample sunlight and plentiful herbs for healing alchemy and the religious clerics who worship the light. If the mountains are hilled, calm-flowing volcanoes, you will more likely see forge caprinoids who specialize in using their ample ore for blacksmithing, perhaps trading amongst copper dragonborn and fire genassi, containing the volcano's lava , mining it for obsidian, and using its blazing hot temperatures to power their cities, fireproofed to perfection. If the mountains are dusted in white, then those in tune with the snowy terrain and frequent, windy blizzards will feel right at home. The caprinoids there will be found to have much thicker fur and apparel, and tend to offer treasures hidden within the neighboring gargantuan glaciers just beyond the city line.
