Homebrew Yuan-ti Impure (Feyblood) Species Details

Among the Yuan-ti castes you are the lowest of the low; the product of an unsuitable mate or raised outside Yuan-ti culture. You have emotions, cannot speak with snakes and if you can cast spells, they are other than those normally associated with Yuan-ti spell-casting abilities. Some Purebloods may consider you Yuan-ti, but most consider you meat.

Impure Personality Traits

Impure Ideals

Impure Bonds

Impure Flaws

3	I frequently overindulge in food and wine, and I am impaired and lethargic for days afterward.
4	I worship a forbidden god.
5	I secretly believe things would be better if I was in charge.
6	I'm a hypochondriac. I'm certain that the slightest blemish, itch or sneeze is a sure sign that I've got some deadly disease.

Feyblood

Among the Impure, the Feyblood is least likely to survive to adulthood within Yuan-ti society, but outside of Yuan-ti society they easily pass for half-elves, placing them beneath notice for most of the race.

Outwardly they are indistinguishable from half-elves, and share that race's fey ancestry trait. From their serpentine heritage they inherit chameleon abilities, granting them the ability to hide when only lightly obscured.

On two disseparate occasions Feyblood have banded together and led successful insurections, overthrowing the Yuan-ti hierarchy and establishing new societies. The Volkani Republic embraces the emotionless nature of their forbearers, but pursue a peaceful course of philosophical contemplation, while the Remulan Empire embraces the passion of their elvish ancestry while pursuing a secret militaristic expansion reminiscent of Yuan-ti intrigues.

 

Yuan-ti Impure (Feyblood) Traits

Your yuan-ti impure character — called a Feyblood for short — has the following racial traits.

Ability Score Increase

Your Charisma score increases by 2, and your Dexterity score increases by 1.

Age

Impure mature at the same rate as half-elves and have lifespans similar in length to theirs.

Alignment

Impure can be of any alignment. Feyblood from the Remulan Empire tend towards Lawful while those from the Volkani Republic tend towards good.

Size

Impure match half-elves in average size and weight. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Darkvision

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Fey Ancestry

You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed and magic cannot put you to sleep.

Poison Immunity

You are immune to poison damage and the poisoned condition.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common, Abyssal, and Draconic if you were raised by Yuan-ti. Otherwise you know Common, Elvish and one other language.

Mask of the Wild

You can attempt to hide even when you are only lightly obscured by foliage, heavy rain, falling snow, mist, and other natural phenomena.
