Homebrew Slime Species Details
Nothing is created, nothing is destroyed, all transforms. This is Nature’s dogma, that nothing can overcome. However, organic compounds animated by magic found a way to adapt to this rule, and abuse adaptation. This is the best way to describe how Slimes came to be. Refusing to abandon the matter, energy flows massively into it, ceasing to be imprisoned in a solid body and converting to a more fluid state. Sometimes seen as monsters, Slimes are instead a true manifestation of Nature’s will to move forward, and triumph over desolation.
Slimes are mostly classified by their natural composition. Some tend to be green because of their forestal origin, others brown as mud, others grey as stone. However, a great amount of water is necessary for them to adopt a fluid state, melting the individual molecules into an homogeneous substance. This accounts for their natural resilience towards physical harm, having conquered a superior state of matter.
Their watery nature brings some perks to their nature. Whenever water meets a soluble compound, it dissolves it in itself, absorbing its properties; constantly being in a watery state allowed Slimes to absorb a variety of molecules, mixing them and creating chemical reactions resulting in novel compounds, often not tolerated by other creatures. They can’t be harmed by their toxicity, due to it being a constitutive element of their body. However, they have not adapted to sustain ionic disruption by electrolysis; imagine the effect on their bodies as that of a metal arrow hitting you, while being in a melting process.
Being watery means being in constant exchange with the environment. According to this, Slimes have adopted a very peculiar eusocial behaviour that increases their evolutionary drive. Different individuals that come across different substances may share liquids with each other, increasing each other's perks due to their compositions. However, they also tend to be greedy about their unique substances, which can be stored in vesicles to avoid passage to other beings. This strategy is often considered rude among them, so it is rare to find such a specimen who is jealous about its fluids. Slimes tend to be considered as genderless. They can however mix up their volumes of liquids to either fuse, divide, or create a new balance between two individuals, though it is a risky procedure in any case that may lead to an unstable, therefore prone to death, specimen.

While your natural state is that of a blob of ooze, you may use an action to take the shape of a creature or object, although you do not take on traits like colors. The form must be within your size.
Your body is also fairly resilient due to being mostly liquid. Your AC will equal 13 + Constitution Modifier, and immunity to Acid damage. However, you are vulnerable to Lightning damage.
Dissolve
You can manipulate the chemicals in your body to give a corrosive touch. If you make an unarmed attack or successful grapple against a creature, you can deal 1d4 Acid damage to the target. If the target is reduced to 0 hit points, they are fully absorbed and broken down in your body, giving you +5 temporary hit points.
