Homebrew Bearfolk Species Details
Brutish, tough and powerful, Bearfolk combine features of humanoid beings and bears.
Bearfolk are a race of humanoids mostly found in the Feywild. They have thick skin fully covered by fur, which can range from black to white, depending on the surroundings they live in. Most Bearfolk can be found at the court of the Bear-King, to whom they are universally subject to. However settlements, cities and even kingdoms of the Bearfolk can be found all over the Feywild and to an extent also on the material plane.
Bearfolk Traits
As a Bearfolk you gain the following benefits.Ability Score Increase
Your Constitution score increases by 2, and your Strength score increase by 1.
Age
Due to being home in the Feywild, Bearfolk live longer than ordinary bears and humans. They reach adulthood at the age of 14 and live up to 120 years.
Alignment
Bearfolk usually have the chaotic energy from their bear ancestry and the spirit of the Feywild. However they are very protective over the people within their sloth and are said to be great drinking partners that never pass up on a good old fashioned tavern brawl. Therefore Bearfolk often tend to be Chaotic Good.
Size
A Bearfolk's size ranges between 6 and 8 foot and they can weigh up to 450 pounds. Your size is medium.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Thick Skin
While you are not wearing armor your Armor Class equals 13 + your Dexterity modifier.
Frenzy
As a bonus action, you can trigger a primal frenzy that lasts 1 minute. While in frenzy, you gain resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage and have advantage on attack rolls. Attack rolls made against you during your frenzy have advantage aswell. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
Powerful Build
You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.
Natural Weapons
Unarmed strikes with your claws deal 1d6 + your strength modifier as slashing damage. Unarmed strikes with your bite deal 1d6 + your strength modifier as piercing damage.
Languages
You can speak, read and write Common and Giant.
