Homebrew Creep Species Details

Snufkin was washing his saucepan in the brook when he caught sight of the creep. It was sitting on the far side below a tree root, looking at him. Its eyes were scared but very interested, following Snufkin’s every movement.
Two shy eyes under a mop of hair. Just the look people have who are never noticed.
Snufkin pretended that he hadn’t seen the creep.

Creeps are a small and diverse race of creatures. Typically humanoid, though many have more animalistic traits, such as furry tails, tall and mobile ears, or long thin snouts, they are at least ⅛ Goblin, and rarely trusted. They are thus cast out of any kind of society, and tend to grow up lonely, unnamed and mostly feral, if they get to grow up at all.

Lonesome

To say that there is any kind of typical creep is ridiculous. All are different, not just in their biological composition, but in their experiences as well. However, despite this ridiculousness, we will attempt to describe what makes a creep a creep.

Creeps are usually abandonned, whether that be by the mother at birth, or later in life. They are strange, unsettling creatures, and those who appreciate conformity cannot bear them. Even goblins have a strict social structure, and dislike their creep children.

Unfortunately, most people do not thrive in isolation, and creeps are no exemption. They seek out companionship, and are nearly always turned away. The slightest compassion from a stranger can lead a creep to absolute devotion, but a lifetime of rejection can turn them cynical as well.
