Homebrew Demihuman Species Details

Demihumans originated from groups of humans hundreds to thousands of years ago that migrated to areas that were difficult for them to survive in. The humans evolved and adapted to survive with their surroundings. These races remained very human but adapted animal like traits. Once the other humans and elves found these demihuman civilizations, they pushed them out of the way considering them as less than human. There are some lands where the locals such as halflings accepted the demihumans. A demihuman has different traits based on which sub-species it is. Demihumans are strong-willed creatures that are protective beings and care not much of the world outside their small civilizations.

Demihuman Traits

Demihumans are human-like creatures that have adapted traits from animals, they come from all over and come in all different kinds of shapes and sizes.

Age

Demihumans mature faster than normal humans both physically and emotionally, reaching adulthood at around 12 years old. They live a shorter lifespan as well, rarely living to be more than 60 years old.

Alignment

Demihumans tend to lean towards being good. With their past of being mistreated they look down on evil deeds and try to treat everyone with love and respect. Some demihumans who think about the past too personally can lean towards evil alignments.

Size

Demihumans range from 3 to almost 7 feet tall, depending on their subrace. Your size depends on your subrace.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Roots in Nature

Due to the long history with being away from large civilization and adapting with the animals you have proficiency in nature and animal handling.

You can read and write common, and one other language of your choice.
