Homebrew Croaxian Species Details

In the reckonings of most worlds, humans are the youngest of the common races. Perhaps it is because of their shorter lives that they strive to achieve as much as they can in the years,  they build their mighty empires on the foundation of conquest and trade. Whatever drives them, humans are the innovators, the achievers, and the pioneers of the worlds. But some aren't always like that, some are cursed with a new form, one without appendages and consumed by Black Ooze. And then the Ooze takes form....

A Twisted Fate

Croaxians were human long ago but not really... in fact they lived alongside everyone in the form of Black Ooze not knowing it was a danger to us all it tried to be a citizen but ti no avail, it killed thousands upon millions of humans and parts of them were infused with black magic causing them to become humanoid.

Variety in All Things Oozey

With the humanoid goop running amok they wanted to adapt, they learned to speak, trade, fight, etc. until they were as good as humans were, they made their own civilization as well as a bartering system to gain their needs, with them having no bones (except a spine,rib-cage,and skull) they are able to get to places a bit faster since they are living gloop.

 

EVERYONE'S GOT OPINIONS

Just as readily as they mix with each other, Croaxians have made their way into towns and mingled with others to see what the outside world is... 

Dwarves. “Even though they aren't human they sure know how to down a mug of mead! *chuckles*"

Elves.”Even though they leave a trail, their interesting trade and combat potential is something most of human kind are striving for, nowadays however they are resorting to others protecting them, it embarrassing enough to see it in action."

Humans. “These.. things used to be us?!?!? What in God's name happened to make these abominations? I say kill them all!"

 

Trailing Behind

When moving, a tail of Black Ooze temporarily forms, thankfully Croaxians usually wear boots made up of materials that the black ooze cannot get into and dissolve it. Croaxians are friendly and usually try to contain themselves, usually shy and paranoid, always lagging behind because of fear that they'll be killed simply by being there.

They are gentle and do not want to harm civilization where it is, simply leave them be and if you want to be friendly and offer them some gift, it doesn't have to be much it could be a warm welcome for all they care!

Weird Weakness

Despite having no mouth, they love the apple, simply because of the sensation. They have no taste but they love the way it feels, its heaven to them, they are also weak to light since they are Black Ooze in general.

Form, Speech, and Naming for Croaxians

Croaxian speech (also called Swampspeech) is generally a mixture of Goblin and Common with a bit of a dark spin.

Croaxian's are asexual and can be male or female but they choose to be blob-like and have no form of privates.

Weather they want a Masculine or Femme form is up to them

Croaxians choose to have Common names and or Elven/ Dwarven names depending on which form they take.

Don't over do it... you'd end up like me, pitch black and decaying

 Your ability scores each increase by 2.

Age

Croaxians have the lifespan that can last a few centuries, they do this by putting DNA of themselves in pots, disgusting but its kinda like cloning yourself.

Alignment

Croaxians usually tend toward no particular alignment. they are NG most of the time.

Size

Croaxians can vary in size, some prefer to be small whilst others want to be the size of a Goliath. Whatever the case, Croaxians usually are between 5 to 7ft tall.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet. but your climbing speed is 20 without climbing gear and 35 with climbing gear!

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and one extra language of your choice. Croaxians typically learn the languages of other peoples and socailize to make a better name for themselves.
