Homebrew Ahrim Species Details

When they first came through the mountains we thought the fiends were attacking, Their great horns and red skins decieved us into using holy magic and when it didn't work we found a new terrifying monster to tell our naughty children at nights

-William Goldennight

Great King of Fertalis

There are only few creatures that the gods did not directly involve in their creation, Ahrim takes pride in this unique attribute. In their eyes they were not created, they came to be from a single wound of a First Angel, the Great Wyrm Ahrus. They did not leave their birthplace for thousands of years and when they did, the world was never the same.

One-Way Seclusion

After they came to being they lived in their birthplace inside the Storm Mountains for thousands of years. However, while the rest of the world never knew they existed they learned everything about the world from the Great Dragons that came to honor The Great Wyrm. They celebrated the arrival of a dragon, like a holiday regardless of their skin color. Dragons told the tale of the outside world every time they came: the wars, politics, adventures, cities, and much more... This one-way knowledge provided a great advantage when Ahrim finally decided to leave their birthplace Mihro'sert and conquer the world.

Rider and the Ally of Dragons

Ahrim was not the only creature that lived in Mihro'sert, there was a dragon race called Atrus. They came to be from the Ahrus too but from a different wound. Atrus and Ahrim had such a great relationship that every Ahrim had an Atrus almost all their lives. And when Asbrand decided to go outside world they were the only dragon race that supported them. Chromatic Dragons were disgusted even in the idea of helping a humanoid race and the Metallic Dragons did not want to be a part of this bloodshed, even though when Ahrim has proven that they were unbeatable in any way or form they joined the Fertalis's side.

Atrus's too erased from the existence at the end of the war which is why you can't have an Atrus if you play this race.

No Gratitude Towards Gods

Ahrim knows their origin, they know gods did not intend to create them nor made their lives easy. They believe gods are just as real as you believe them to be, so many of them do not even think about them all through their lives but few who choose to believe them they worship only the Bahamut, not because its a god but because it was the commander of Great Wyrm during the Creation War. Ahrim do not have many paladins or clerics. They have few druids but because of their surroundings, their places are very limited. Most of them are Fighters or Wizards, with some Sorcerers and Barbarians.

Analytical But Attached to Customs

Ahrim is a very intelligent and analytical race, they like to plan every detail before venturing forward yet they are devoured to their old and considerably savage customs. These customs include the Treasure, which is when an Ahrim goes Storm Mountains to bring a treasure of a creature, then they trade this treasure for a name. This treasure must be hard to acquire otherwise they can't trade them for a name. These treasures include Manticore heart, Giant Toe, Dragon Teeth, and sometimes Roc feathers. Ahrim can trade every different reasure for a different name. For this reason, the longer Ahrim's name is more respected they are. But this adventure is not an easy one and many of the Ahrims cannot return from the mountains.  Because Storm Mountains is a dangerous terrain even for Giants living in them.

Ahrim Names

An ahrim may refuse to say or even acknowledge your last name because of this reason.

Even though Ahrim never left the Storm Mountains they still had a good relationship with other intelligent creatures of these terrains. Giants were one of these creatures, who had  good relations with Ahrim. When a Giant and an Ahrim mated the result was Oni's. After a while Onis got corrupted by Kordak who wanted to use Oni's abilities for himself.
