Homebrew Book Species Details
A book brought to life through magic of some kind, through this magic they have gained personalities and a mind. Books are very intelligent but considerable weak as such they have learned to possess stronger creatures, humanoids, to help protect themselves. Through the act of possession all books have learned to manipulate the mind as such they can learn the language of the individual that they are possessing. Due to the magic that breathed life into them books are able to record an unlimited amount of knowledge in their pages, they are also able to change the languages that that knowledge is written in to any language they know to prevent individuals from reading their secrets. Most would believe that the abilities Books display would have them lean towards darker tendencies we can say that they are as varied as humans and any other humanoids in their beliefs and actions.
Most Books tend to lean towards magical occupations this maybe because most Books where written by wizards and other magic users to contain their knowledge. However we have spoken to a single book that was written about swordsmanship and was actively working as a fighter while possessing a bandit so do not thing they are limited to the more magical occupations only.

Through your magical nature you have the ability to possess any humanoid creature that is within 15 feet of you. You can only possess one creature at a time as long as they fail an intelligence saving throw of (8 + Intelligence Modifier + Proficiency), once possessed you control the creature as if it was you own body. If the creature succeeds then they toss the book away, you cannot try to posses them again that day and they remained unharmed.
If the possessed body's dies then book is dropped to the ground with 1 hp remaining and only regains its hp after possessing another creature.
Body of books
As a book you are the embodiment of knowledge and as such you sacrifice strength for intelligence, you have gained +2 to either Dexterity, Intelligence, Wisdom or Charisma and -1 to Strength, Dexterity, or constitution. Through your magical existence you have gained the ability to hover and move over surfaces, you can hover at a max of 10 feet, other than that you have identical movement speed to a human.
Language of book
Over the years you have learned the common tongue through your the many people you have touched. but no language can compare to the one you where written in. Select what language your writer wrote you in.
Browse the Mind
Through your possession and interaction with the humanoid mind you can now learn one languages of the individual you have possessed.
Written Knowledge
From Cover to Cover you record all knowledge in your pages as such you never forget anything.
Magical Rewrite
You have ability to magically rewrite the language you are written in into any other language you know.
