Homebrew Acheron Species Details

Acheron are born from the union of a tiefling and an angel, cursed to be the pariah your parents are, to be the tools of each force but loved by neither. You must find your own path deciding when the proper time is to be good or evil. 

Celestial Champions

Pursuival are placed in the world to bring balance. Their patrons expect them to treat all complications with careful and thought out plans. For if they fall to far on either side their body may combust changing them forever into either devil or angel. You need this power, both from the burning hells and the shining heavens.

Hidden Wanderers

The angels and devils will never accept you as one of their own so long as you have the impurity of the other within. They will tempt you to slay the other only to throw you to the trash right after. Pursuival grow callused from being betrayed, but try to keep an open heart when it comes to helping those in need. 

 

Conflicted Souls

Being from both an angelic and devil bloodline, Pursuivals fight with the inner conflicts from eons of the constant battle between angels and devils. Whispers trying to drag you to the dark side as your only hope is the light burning within your soul.

Most Puruival are born from human parents, and they use the same naming conventions as their native culture.

 

Acheron Traits

Your Puruival character has the following racial traits.

Bloodline of the Ancients

Gain resistance to Fire and Radiant damage.

Sacrilegious Legacy

You gain the ability to cast spells as you level up. At 1st level you learn to cast Vicious Mockery and the Light cantrip. At 3rd level you learn to cast Protection From Good or Evil once with this trait, and finally at 5th level you learn to cast Daylight or Enthrall at 3rd level once per long rest.

Prehensile Tail

Your devil heritage has given you a oddly capable tail. Almost as if a third but much weaker arm. If your tail can wrap around an object you can pull or lift it so long as it is no heavier than 10lbs.

Ability Score Increase

Your Charisma score increases by 2 and your Wisdom by 1.

Age

Pursuival mature at the same rate as humans, but they can live up to 160 years.

Alignment

Do to the struggle of your ancestral heritage, you have neither tendency for good or evil. You try to stay neutral and pick the side that best benefits you.

Size

Pursuival have the same range of height and weight as humans.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet. You have black wings that sprout from you back giving you a flying speed of 30 feet

Darkvision

Blessed with a radiant soul, your vision can easily cut through darkness. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
