Homebrew Astral Deva Species Details

Devas are immortal celestials, commonly known as Angels, sent as an agent of the gods and given humanoid form. They are born in fully-formed adult bodies. Devas are imposing figures, built like tall humans, but with purple or blue skin, white eyes, and unearthly grace. When a deva dies, its soul travels the astral plane for 100 years before being reincarnated in another adult deva body. After reincarnation, a deva recalls vague memories of a past lifetime, allowing it to draw from past experiences to give itself an edge. Though devas are typically good, a particular lifetime might drive a deva toward evil. When a non-good deva is reincarnated, its body develops thick black or white lined patterns. If the deva turns permanently to evil, it will be reincarnated as a Rakshasa. A Deva stands between 6 and 7 and a half feet tall, weighing an average 250lbs.

Some Deva had supple bodies, long wings, golden-hued skin, fair or golden hair, amber-coloured eyes, and white wings tinted with gold. Others had dark brown skin, jet black hair, green piercing eyes. Others had skin of milky white hue with hair and eyes that appeared silvery. Devas were averse to clothing; when they must adhere to mortal custom, they donned simple loincloths or other coverings.

Memory of a Thousand Lifetimes

When you make an attack roll, saving throw, or ability check and dislike the result, you can roll 1d8 and add it to the result, before the DM says whether you succeeded or failed. You must take a short or long rest before you can use this ability again.

Astral Resistance

You have resistance to necrotic and radiant damage. 

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and Celestial.

Ability Score Increase

 Wisdom score increases by 2 and Dexterity or Charisma increases by 1.

Innate spell-casting

You can use certain spells without using a spellslot. Only once per long rest and dependant on level.

Darkvision

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
