Homebrew Bison Build Firbolg Species Details

Creatures of Burden 

Many Bison Build firbolg end up in sectors of the job with much physical labour. This is due to their incredible strength and endurance. Outside of their clan, they often work as farmhands, dock workers, miners or any other profession where physical power is a must. Those who do not understand the average Bison Build firbolg personality's often ask them to be guards or fighters. They usually decline owing to their soft and calm nature. When pressed however, they live up to their name, standing their ground until they no longer have the capacity to do so. 

Inside the clan they are usually intrusted with similar responsibilities, usually doing manual lab our for the clan and often leading expeditions into the deeper parts of the mountains and forests. Their strength and endurance allows them to carry and navigate rougher terrain with huge loads of equipment. This means they are responsible for finding a new more secluded area for their clan and then moving more then their share of the camp in the rare occasions that the clan is forced to move.  

Strong Physique  

Bison Build firbolg are significantly stronger then other firbolg. While not chiseled, it is obvious their strength exceeds that of many. They are wider than other firbolg and often have a larger forehead. They have a large mane of curly, brown, black or red hair around their face and neck. There is little to no difference between the mane of a female or male Bison Build firbolg. Two short horns curve up from the sides of their face. Their fur is usually brown or black, but can at times have red or blonde hues. Their upper body is covered in thicker fur than their lower body.

Some Bison Build have kyphosis, also referred to as a hunchback by the general population. They were born with this posture, and thus do not struggle with any health deficits as their body was shape to accommodate it. 

Superstition believes Bison Build firbolg born with kyphosis are stronger and more durable than those without, but this has never been proven to be true.

Your Strength increases by 2. Your Constitution and Wisdom scores both increase by 1.

Age

 As humanoids related to fey, firbolg have long lifespans. A firbolg reaches adulthood around 30, and the oldest of them can live for 500 years

Alignment

As people who follow the rhythm of nature and see themselves as its caretakers, firbolg are typically neutral good. Evil firbolg are rare and usually the sworn enemies if the rest of their kind.

Size

Bison Build firbolg are between 8-9 feet tall, but due to their muscular body, they weigh slightly more than other firbolg. Their weight ranges between 320 and 400 pounds. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 35 feet.

Experienced Explorer

Your time growing up in the wilds with your clan and your Fey ancestry has taught you how to track, forage, hunt, and interact with animals. You are naturally Proficient in Animal handling and Survival. 

Firbolg Magic

You can cast detect magic and disguise self with this trait, using Wisdom as your Spellcasting ability for them. Once you cast either spell, you can't cast it again with this trait until after a short or long rest. When you use this version of disguise self, you seem up to 3 feet shorter than normal, allowing you to more easily blend in with humans and elves.

Extra Powerful Build

You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag or lift. Your carrying capacity is your Strength score multiplied by 30, rather then the usual 15. Encumbered doesn't set in until you carry something in excess of 10 times your Strength score. and Heavily Encumbered in excess of 20 times your Strength score.

Bull Rush

Once per short rest you can use your movement to ram a creature. Your speed doubles and you attempt to ram a creature, doing 1d12 + your Strength modifier bludgeoning damage and making the creature fall prone on a hit. Your attack bonus is your Strength modifier + your Proficiency Bonus. This only works if the creature is in a straight line from you. 

Speech of Beast and Leaf

 You have the ability to communicate in. a limited manner with beasts and plants. They can understand the meaning of your words, though you have no special ability to understand them in return. You have advantage on all Charisma checks you make to influence them.

Languages

You can speak, read and write Common, Elvish, and Giant.
