There's an old book written by Galovere and his lover Graska about seeking the undeath through rituals. These things where once safeguarded by the royal family, until the Thief Rieta in her early years and sold it to high bidder who sold the information to multiple other workers, but no one seemed to be able to do it.

As a former living being, to become a Voskilly, you must sacrifice your body by burning away your flesh from your soul, in order to complete this ritual you have to be fairly cunning individual.

Your skills with completely the ritual that had brought you immortality spread into other skills with other Arcane Magic, You get a cantrip and a 1st level ritual spell from the Wizard spell list, you can use the cantrip at will, you can cast your 1st level ritual spell once every short rest. Intelligence is your spellcasting ability, you have to expend any materials used in the ritual.

During the ritual, your soul has been bounded to a phylactery or item, that allows you to regenerate your body. The phylactery must stay within 100 feet to be active upon your death. your soul can be brought to the item to be revived. These are the consequences to be revived:
Upon your soul being brought back to the phylactery it will take a month for a body to reform itself.
you take a -6 penalty to all attack rolls, saving throws, physical scores and ability checks, Every time the you finish a long rest, the penalty is reduced by 1 until it disappears.
